Today is the last day to have your vote counted in the general election. To be included in results, ballots must be postmarked by today, dropped in one of the county’s 22 ballot boxes or returned to the Clark County Elections Office by 8 p.m.

Drop boxes can be found in Vancouver, Amboy, Battle Ground, Brush Prairie, Camas, La Center, Ridgefield, Washougal and Yacolt. For a map of locations, go to clark.wa.gov/elections/ballot-deposit-locations. The elections office is at 1408 Franklin St., Vancouver.

Elections workers collected more than 22,000 ballots Monday afternoon, the largest daily total since collections began for the general election, according to the county elections website.

Turnout was at 57.17 percent — nearly 200,000 ballots — Monday afternoon, according to county data. Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey said presidential elections typically draw higher voter turnout and he expected to see a total turnout of around 85 percent.

If you’ve already returned your ballot, you can check the status at VoteWA.gov. Just enter your first name, last name and date of birth to see if your ballot has been received and accepted or rejected.

For questions about registering to vote or casting a ballot, call the elections office at 564-397-2345 or email elections@clark.wa.gov.

Initial results will be released around 8:15 p.m. tonight and will be published shortly thereafter on The Columbian’s website.
