Letter: Engage with civility

By Linda Micheel, Vancouver

This election has brought out the worst in some people here in Clark County. Campaign laws are ignored (large signs in medians or in front of existing signs, old photos used in flyers — that would be John Ley), ballot boxes torched in Fisher’s Landing, campaign signs on private property stolen or defaced, excrement thrown on lawns of people who think differently than the person doing the throwing.

What has happened to civil discourse? Is the only way to disagree to ignore the law, burn ballots and throw excrement at your neighbors? Shame on you!

Use your words. Civilly.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
