Letter: Ballot fire is outrageous

I’m outraged by news of the fire at the Fisher’s Landing ballot box.

With so much history of people trying to undermine free and fair elections, I’m surprised that the Clark County auditor wasn’t collecting all ballots each and every evening, including on weekends. Maybe they need to collect multiple times a day, like the Postal Service does at its drop boxes.

Are the ballot drop boxes not under video surveillance? If not, that seems like a major oversight. Do we need armed guards to protect the ballot boxes?
