Fishing Report: lower Columbia River, tributary summary for week of Oct. 21-27

On the lower Columbia River between Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam there were 25 salmonid boats were tallied on Oct. 26.

MAINSTEM COLUMBIA

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec. 1 (Bonneville) — 22 bank anglers kept one coho and released one coho. 15 boats/37 rods kept 17 Chinook, six coho, released two Chinook, two Chinook jacks, one coho and one coho jack.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Two boats/two rods kept four coho.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 12 boats/18 rods kept one Chinook and two coho.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — 13 boats/24 rods kept one Chinook, two Chinook jacks and five coho.

Sec 6 (Kalama) — One bank angler had no catch.

COLUMBIA TRIBUTARIES

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 bridge downstream — 61 bank rods kept five coho, three coho jacks, released two coho and one coho jack; seven boats/16 rods kept six coho, released two Chinook jacks and nine coho.

Cowlitz River above the I-5 bridge — 42 bank rods kept two coho, one steelhead, released 45 Chinook and five coho.

Kalama River — 43 bank rods kept two coho, one steelhead, released one Chinook and two steelhead; four boats/eight rods kept 10 coho, one coho jack and released three coho.

Lewis River — 62 bank rods kept 18 coho, one steelhead and released two coho jacks; eight boats/19 rods kept two coho, released three coho and one coho jack.

Wind River — Three bank rods had no catch; 13 boats/24 rods kept one Chinook, six coho, one coho jack, released five Chinook and nine coho.

Drano Lake — 26 bank rods released two coho and one steelhead; 12 boats/34 rods kept nine Chinook, 13 coho, one steelhead and released one Chinook.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge — 12 bank rods kept three Chinook and three coho.

Klickitat River above No. 5 Fishway — One bank rod released one steelhead.
