Vancouver Volcanoes fall in Game 1 to Seattle Super Hawks

The Basketball League playoff series moves to Vancouver for Game 2

The Vancouver Volcanoes are back in town needing to win Saturday night if they want to stay alive in The Basketball League playoffs.

Vancouver lost to the Seattle Super Hawks 140-120 on Thursday at Seattle Pacific University in Game 1 of the best-of-three series.

Seattle’s Nahziah Carter, who played college basketball for the Washington Huskies, led all players with 43 points and 10 assists.

Tyshon Pickett led the Volcanoes with 27 points on 10 of 17 shooting, and Elijah Ford scored 22. Rashaun Coleman had a double-double of 16 points and 12 assists.

Seattle held Markus Golder, Vancouver’s top scorer, was held below his 23.2 points a game average. Golder finished with 15 points.

Game 2 will tipoff at 7 p.m. Saturday and, if necessary, a Game 3 will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. Both games are at Evergreen High School with tickets available for $10 adults, $5 for seniors and youth.

The winner of the series advances to the TBL quarterfinals against the winner of the Pacific Southwest Division.
