Letter: Consider ‘choice,’ available services

By Gerry Parmantier, Vancouver
Published: May 27, 2024, 6:00am

Darrell Miller’s letter (“One can be pro-life, pro-choice,” Our Readers’ Views, May 17) carefully avoids addressing the “choice” which ends the “life” of the unique human conceived within his/her mother’s womb.

In fact, many women regret that “abortion choice.” Read their testimonies, Voices of Women Who Mourn, at Feminists for Life website. And what about the “life” ended by abortion? You can see the early development of that life in a video by the Endowment for Human Development and aired by National Geographic “The Biology of Human Development.” There’s a six-minute version on their website. And there are former abortionists who are willing to explain what they did, why they did it and why they regret it now at www.abortionprocedures.com.

Clark County has three pregnancy support centers whose contact info you can find at Clark County Right to Life.

Many, perhaps most, who choose abortion, do so ignorant of the tiny life growing within them. Many, perhaps most, who choose abortion, do so ignorant of the pregnancy resources available to help them and their baby before and after birth.

For these and for all others involved, post-abortion resources are available. The truth may hurt, but only the truth can heal the hurt.
