A speeding driver rear-ended another car on state Highway 14 near the junction with Interstate 205 Tuesday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Adrien J. Hamilton, 27, of Vancouver was heading east on Highway 14 about 4 p.m. when he failed to slow for traffic and read-ended a Volkswagen, according to a State Patrol crash memo. The Volkswagen rolled and landed in the left lane. Hamilton’s Volvo ended up on the right shoulder.

According to the State Patrol, Hamilton was speeding and does not have a driver’s license or insurance.

John E. Gilley, 64, of Camas, the driver of the Volkswagen, was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Both men were wearing seat belts.
