VANCOUVER – Furry Friends recently held a retirement party for its longest active volunteer, Linda Rader.

Rader has volunteered with the no-kill cat shelter for 23 years, serving at various times as foster coordinator, a foster for hospice and senior kitties, vice president and a board member. Furry Friends started in 1999 and Linda joined in 2001.

As the original adoption coordinator, she volunteered full-time to do the intake of all cats, coordinate their care, drive cats to the veterinarian, oversee foster care, interview possible adopters, coordinated which cats went to adoption shows and adoption centers and handle all administrative details for each cat.
