Letter: One can be pro-life, pro-choice

Regarding Kathleen Parker’s column in The Columbian (May 7), President Joe Biden’s faith teaches that we are created with a free will to make personal choices. He has stated that, in general, he personally does not favor abortion. That is his right to choose, his personal choice. His pro-choice view regarding a woman’s right to choose then, is not contrary to, but rather aligns with his faith’s teaching on that right.

I believe he is promoting freedom of choice, not “promoting abortion,” as stated by Ms. Parker.

One can be both pro-life and pro-choice, and many would argue, should be.

Rights? No one should have the right to legislate away the right of personal freedom and free will to choose.
