Longtime Vancouver studio DanceWorks has right moves

Family-owned company teaches hundreds of students weekly

Karen Cannon walked into her workshop, a room tucked in the back of DanceWorks Performing Arts that’s stuffed with racks of costumes, with a table of sewing machines off to one side.

Students “think I’m the crazy costume lady,” she joked. As founder, director and owner of DanceWorks, Cannon is actually the boss.
