Japanese retail chain Daiso is opening its newest location June 1 in Hazel Dell Marketplace.
The new Daiso store, 628 N.E. 81st St., will be 9,824 square feet in size, about the average size of a Dollar Tree store. The store sells a wide range of what it calls “quality merchandise at affordable prices,” including Japanese-inspired home decor, stationery and food.
In an announcement this week, the company said the first 100 customers to spend at least $30 at the Hazel Dell store on June 1 and June 2 will get a goodie bag.
Daiso will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The are about a dozen Daiso locations in Washington, mostly in the Puget Sound area, with the closest in South Hill, near Puyallup.
The brand operates 126 stores in the U.S., including in Nevada, Arizona, California, Texas, New York and New Jersey. The chain is very popular in California, where it has 65 locations around the state.
