The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a serial burglar who appears to be posing as a door-to-door salesman. If no one responds to his knock, he breaks in through windows at the back of the house.

Law enforcement said they have received multiple reports from the Felida and Salmon Creek areas along with one report in Camas.

The suspect, who appears to be a white, older man, possibly travels in a white or silver sedan with a woman of similar age, according to the sheriff’s office. He carries a piece of paper, as if he is selling something.

KPTV interviewed the owners of the Camas home who said the man stole $5,000 in cash, $40,000 in jewelry, passports, Social Security cards and travel documents.

In another incident, the burglar took an empty safe after entering a home from a rear sliding glass door. A woman inside another home that was burglarized confronted the man, and he left, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Chris Skidmore.

The increasing prevalence of doorbell cameras has helped capture images of burglary suspects such as this one, Skidmore said. At least two homes had doorbell cameras or security systems that captured the man’s face.

The sheriff’s office asks people with information about the suspect to email Deputy Robert Alexander at Robert.Alexander@clark.wa.gov.
