2A track and field: Revac Banfield of Columbia River, Paris Ackerman of Hudson’s Bay shine in 2A GSHL sub-district meet

Banfield wins 100 and 200; Ackerman takes 200, 400 and long jump

Revac Banfield of Columbia River posted solid times in winning the 100 and 200 meters and Paris Ackerman of Hudson’s Bay won three events at the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League sub-district track and field meet Thursday at Columbia River.

Banfield posted a season-best mark of 10.54 seconds in winning the boys 100 meters. He also breezed to victory in the 200 (21.85) and helped River win the 400 relay.

Jacob McManus and John Reeder were also dual winners for the Rapids, who won the boys team title over Ridgefield 179.5 to 122.5.

McManus won the 1,600 (4:20.90) and 3,200 (9:48.57), while Reeder won the long jump (21-5) and triple jump (43-10.5).

Gavin Barnes (110 hurdles), Ryker Loukkula (discus) and Brandon Fich (high jump) also posted wins for River.

Tanner Hardley of Washougal won a battle in the pole vault over Eli Wenger of Columbia River. Hardley cleared 15 feet to Wenger’s 14-6.

Other winners in the boys meet were Adam Williams of Hudson’s Bay (400), Davis Sullivan of Ridgefield (800), Koynn Williamdyke (300 hurdles) and Franklin Pihl (javelin) of R.A. Long and Ryan Faumuina of Fort Vancouver (shot put).

Ackerman, a sophomore, won the girls 200 meters by more than a second (25.60 seconds), the 400 by almost three seconds (1:00.54) and the long jump (17-3) by over a foot.

Danica Allen was a dual winner in the 800 and 1,600 to lead the Ridgefield girls to the team title over Columbia River 147-117.5.

The Spudders also got wins from McKenna Calkins (100), Charlize Kellmer (3,200) and Nora Martin (javelin).

Elsie Herold of Mark Morris was a dual-winner, taking the 100 hurdles (15.98) and 300 hurdles (46.47).

Other winners included Kathryn Chapin (shot put) and Kamia Tootoosis-Didier (discus) from R.A. Long, Addy Siemer (high jump) of Woodland, Celia Hockinson (pole vault) of Hockinson and Peyton Dukes (triple jump) of Columbia River.
