Taylor Lies created a run all on her own in the first inning and Maddie Milhorn did the rest as Skyview beat Camas 1-0 on Wednesday to clinch the 4A Greater St. Helens League softball title.

Lies led off the game with an infield single. She then stolen second and third. On the steal of third, the throw got away and Lies scored.

That’s all of the offense the Storm would need as Milhorn shut out the Papermakers on three hits with 14 strikeouts.

Camas’ biggest threat came in Savannah Kvistad delivered a one-out triple. But Milhorn struck out the next two batters to end the threat.

HERITAGE 12, MOUNTAIN VIEW 4 — Kaliann Newberry, Hailey Dowell and Makiah Iven had two hits and three RBI apiece as the Timberwolves locked up the No. 2 seed to the bi-district tournament.

Newberry was 2 for 5 with four runs and three RBI. Dowell was 2 for 3 with two runs, a double and three RBI. And Iven went 2 for 4 with three RBI. Jaila Ellis and Kylie Stroup also added two hits each.

PRAIRIE 5, EVERGREEN 0 — Rylee Wall threw a three-hit shutout and Carlie Palmer added a three-run double for the Falcons.

UNION 4, KELSO 0 — McKinley Ermshar struck out 14 during a four-hit shutout of Kelso.
