Letter: Newspapers cause own problems

By Don Rigby, Vancouver
Published: May 2, 2024, 6:00am

When local newspapers disregard and ignore a large percentage of the local subscribers’ religious, patriotic, and political ideals and affiliations, by promoting leftist, progressive candidates and ideas, said publications lose their customers and subscribers.

Thus, when a large nationwide company steps in to take over and streamline or liquidate to attempt to profit, the local community is the big loser.

However, the problem stems from the local newspaper not providing the local customers with the type of product the customers are willing to buy and support.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
