Letter: Another auto mall is insane

By Vicki Coles, Vancouver
Published: May 1, 2024, 6:00am

As if Mill Plain Boulevard wasn’t already a traffic nightmare, how do the city planners think adding car dealerships to the landscape will make life better for Vancouver, specifically the citizens of east Vancouver (“More car dealers get sites in gear,” The Columbian, April 23)? Many people wishing to transit that part of town already avoid Mill Plain by using McGillivray Boulevard, already under study for traffic issues. Adding more traffic to Mill Plain only exacerbates that problem.

Vancouver has one “auto mall.” Creating another with only one main street accessing the area is beyond insane.
