Portland Thorns rally for 2-2 draw against Louisville

PORTLAND — Morgan Weaver and Sam Coffey scored second-half draw as the Portland Thorns rallied for a 2-2 draw against Louisville on Saturday.

Louisville put the Thorns in a 2-0 hole with two goals, both by Uchenna Kanu, in the first six minutes. Louisville would take that 2-0 lead in halftime.

In the 51st minute, the ball fell to the feet of Sophia Smith off a corner kick. Smith played a short pass to Weaver, who curled the ball into the far post for a goal.

In the ninth minute of stoppage time, Kelli Hubly slotted a short pass to Coffey, who drove towards the goal and through several defenders for the Thorns’ second goal.
