Letter: Preserve Lucky Dog Park

By Adriana Fazzi, Vancouver

I have been going to Lucky Dog Park for two years now with my dog Kaiah, who is a Husky mix just turned 3. She loves this park so much. I take her every single day first thing in the morning. We hardly ever miss a day. I walk her about two miles each morning before I go to work.

I used to take her to day care and walk her around the neighborhood but with rising housing and day care costs I couldn’t afford to take her to day care anymore. Someone had mentioned Lucky Dog Park and that it wasn’t overly crowded. I decided to try it out and my dog just loved it. We have made some great friendships here.

I was absolutely devastated when I heard the county wants to rezone the park for yet more housing that we can’t afford. I just don’t even know how I would be able to explain to my dog why we wouldn’t be able to go anymore. This dog park is her life.
