Letter: History repeats in Europe

Whatever happened to the Russia defending itself against Nazism during the Great Patriotic War? East German Nazis became communists. Now the old communists have become fascists. Putin doesn’t want partners or allies. He wants conquest and domination, while the U.S. and Europe hold their breath. 1939 all over again. History repeats itself in strange ways.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
