Letter: Support Ridgefield schools bonds

By Kelliana Cole, Ridgefield
Published: March 27, 2024, 6:00am

Ridgefield schools are overcapacity. With nearly 18,000 residents, we rely on two elementary schools — the same model used when our city had a population a quarter of the size. This outdated model is insufficient for our current students’ needs. Our students need our help.

Proposition 10 and 11 address overcrowding in our schools, giving students learning spaces where they can thrive. We can’t delay any longer, this problem is overdue. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg once asked, “Who will take responsibility for the next generation?” The answer is clear: It’s ours. Please vote yes by April 23.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
