Letter: Column is comical

By Rosie Brinsek, VANCOUVER

In Marc Thiessen’s column (The Columbian, March 13), he said that in order to win uncommitted voters, Donald Trump “needs to be gracious in victory.” I’ve lost count of the number of old-school Republicans who hold out hope that Trump will somehow mature into a dignified elder statesman. Not going to happen.

Thiessen then said that, “He needs to convince them that a second Trump term would be a return not to chaos but to competence.” Seriously? Donald Trump’s whole life is chaos. He thrives on chaos. When I finished laughing, I realized that Thiessen must have been writing a humor column.
