A Vancouver man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl and for his role in the armed robbery of a 14-year-old Vancouver boy.
Levi Joseph Blomdahl, 38, pleaded guilty in September in U.S. District Court in Oregon to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and aiding and abetting motor vehicle theft.
In 2021, a Homeland Security investigation into Portland-area fentanyl trafficking identified Blomdahl as a dealer. Investigators determined Blomdahl made multiple trips from Portland to Phoenix to buy fentanyl and resell it in the Portland area, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release.
In November 2021, investigators served a search warrant on Blomdahl’s Vancouver house, and they seized approximately 600 grams of fentanyl, two firearms, ammunition and smaller amounts of other drugs, the news release states.
Blomdahl was also involved in a September 2021 armed robbery of a 14-year-old Vancouver boy. Blomdahl was in contact with another person who, while pretending to be a police officer, stole a motorcycle the 14-year-old was selling online. Blomdahl was texting with the robber during the theft, and Blomdahl contacted the teen’s mother while posing as the teen to try to get access to the boy’s online account, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Five days later, Blomdahl was the victim in a drug-related robbery and involved in a gunfight on Hayden Island in Portland. Blomdahl was shot and taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to the news release.
The robber, Anthony Pastorino, 44, also of Vancouver, left the area before police arrived. He was later sentenced in May 2023 to more than six years in federal prison for the robbery, the news release states.
A federal grand jury in Portland indicted Blomdahl in March 2022.
