A second swim in a legendary realm tops the DVD releases for the week of March 12.
“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”: Jason Momoa returns as the titular protector of Atlantis, called into action once more in this DC sequel. Also back are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Mantis, Patrick Wilson and Amber Heard, as Orm Marius and Mera, respectively, and director James Wan.
“It’s last swim for the troubled DC Extended Universe, planned for an overall rethink, as Jason Momoa returns as the King of Atlantis in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’” writes Los Angeles Times critic Michael Ordoña in his review. “In some important ways, the sequel laps the original. In others, it — and its mega-franchise — seem destined to sink without a ripple.”

“Anyone But You”: R-rated rom-com starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell as a couple faking togetherness after an actual hookup.
“Wish”: A young girl in a bucolic city realizes that things are not as happy as they seem when everyone’s wishes are hoarded and kept secret by their king, a powerful wizard, in Disney’s animated feature marking the studio’s 100th anniversary.
“The Color Purple”: This adaptation of the stage musical of the beloved book and movie follows the story of Celie, a Georgia woman separated from her sister in the early 20th century.
“Poor Things”: This adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel from director Yorgos Lanthimos, a sci-fi fantasy riff on “Frankenstein,” is an Oscar contender for best picture and director, as well as best actress for Emma Stone and supporting actor for Mark Ruffalo.
“Ferrari”: Filmmaker Michael Mann’s latest feature follows a couple of dramatic months in the life of the Italian automotive magnate Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver) in 1957.
“I.S.S.”: Sci-fi thriller that finds Russian and American crew having to navigate their shared space and relationships aboard the International Space Station after war breaks out on Earth.
“Freelance”: A private security contractor (John Cena) and journalist (Alison Brie) get mixed up in a South American military coup in this action comedy.
“Immediate Family”: Documentary film about four L.A. session musicians who played a major part in the music of the last five decades, with stars such as James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Linda Ronstadt and Phil Collins testifying to their greatness.
“Day By Day: The Rise + The Dynasty”: This sports documentary examines the highly successful Nebraska Cornhuskers football program under Tom Osbourne in the 1970s-90s.
“Double Blind”: The subjects of an experimental drug trial discover they’ll die if they fall asleep in this horror thriller.
“Jonah”: Sci-fi thriller in which a mother calls in assistance from journalists to investigate the possible alien abduction of her son.
“Rick and Morty: The Complete Seventh Season”: The Adult Swim animated comedy returns for its first season without voices by Justin Roiland, who was dismissed from the franchise in early 2023.
“Sonic Prime: Season 1”: The blue hedgehog from the video games feels the need for speed in this Netflix animated series.
“Woods Witch”: Found-footage horror comedy about two would-be influencers who head to the forest to document paranormal phenomena.
