According to WSP, Haider was westbound on the highway in a Freightliner tractor-trailer rig approaching the intersection with Prudential Boulevard. Rodney G. Stryhn, 81, of Longview made a left turn from Prudential Boulevard onto the highway in a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. The semi struck the Subaru in the intersection.
