A woman was taken into police custody early Sunday morning, accused of killing another woman in an overnight Belltown shooting, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired within a building in the 2500 block of Western Avenue around 1:10 a.m. Sunday. They found a woman in her late 20s or 30s with a gunshot wound in the alleyway between Wall and Vine streets, police said.

The woman died at the scene.

Police identified another woman, also in her late 20s and 30s, as a suspect in the shooting and took her into custody. Police say they recovered a gun at the scene.

Additional information about the victim’s identity and what led up to the shooting was not immediately available.

Shortly before, around 11:25 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of Broadway and East Union Street for reports of a man firing a gun.

Three people were hurt, including a 37-year-old bystander who police say sustained minor injuries. Additionally, two others were taken to Harborview Medical Center, where one remains in critical condition. The third person sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition, police said.

The cause of the shooting is unknown, and there’s currently no suspect.

Those with information are asked to call the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
