Letter: Pay attention to real threat

By Martha Wiley, Vancouver VANCOUVER

According to a study by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, between 2021 and November 2022 across the United States there were 19 deaths due to lithium-ion battery fires or batteries overheating.

That’s about 10 deaths per year. People are concerned that these batteries are dangerous.

Yet almost 43,000 people died of gun violence in 2023. Twice as many are injured by guns. This number is growing every year.

Anyone else see a problem here?
