Alistair Docherty had his best-ever finish on the Korn Ferry Tour by finishing in a four-way tie for fourth place on Sunday in the Memorial Health Championship at Springfield, Ill.
A graduate of Union High School, Docherty moved up 19 places with a final round 7-under-par 64 for a 21-under 263 total. He was three shots behind winner Max McGreevy.
Docherty, whose previous best finish in a Korn Ferry event was a tie for seventh in 2023, made eight birdies on the Panther Creek Country Club course, but ran into trouble on the 18th hole.
His first shot at the 436-yard, par-4 closing hole went into the water. He took a penalty drop then put his third shot into a bunker left and short of the green. The fourth shot got to within six feet of the hole where he sank the putt for a bogey.
Docherty’s best finish on the Korn Ferry Tour can’t beat what he did on May 12 when he tied for second at the PGA Tour’s Myrtle Beach Classic.
