Raptors Report: Portland Pickles 8, Ridgefield 4

Sunday’s Game: PORTLAND PICKLES 8, RIDGEFIELD 4 (click here for boxscore)

RECAP: Four runs in the fifth inning helped the Pickles pull ahead for good, though the Raptors kept it relatively close. Portland out-hit the Raptors 15-9, but the teams combined to leave 22 runners on base. Ridgefield is 1-4 against the Pickles this season with a makeup game remaining on July 18 at Walker Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS: Ridgefield stranded eight baserunners over the final five innings, scoring one run in innings 5-8.

KEY PLAYERS: Ridgefield’s Luke Iverson (Utah Valley) had his first three-hit game of the season. He has at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games. … Portland starting pitcher Freddie Rodriguez (Hawai’i) allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts and three walks in his five innings to improve his ERA to 0.56 in his three games.
