Vancouver residents are invited to meet the finalists for the city manager position. The city is hosting two community question-and-answer sessions with the finalists to replace retiring manager Eric Holmes. The names of the finalists have not been released but will be available the week of the community events.

The first event will be 6 to 8 p.m. July 18 at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Ave.

The second event will be 8 to 10 a.m. July 19 in the Pine/Spruce conference room of the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 310 W. Sixth St. The event is co-sponsored by the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Those interested in attending should register at tinyurl.com/msdubyna.

“Providing an opportunity for the community to meet the finalists for our next city manager is an important part of the overall hiring process,” Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle said in a press release Thursday.

During the moderated discussions, candidates will share their thoughts about the future of Vancouver and answer questions submitted by community members.

Questions may be submitted in advance at beheardvancouver.org/cmrecruitment. Written questions will also be collected from the audience at each event.
