Raptors Road Report: Bend Elks 11, Ridgefield 6

Saturday’s Game: Bend Elks 11, Ridgefield Raptors 6 (click here for boxscore)

Star of the Game: Elks centerfielder Josh Wakefield (Iowa Western) went 2 for 4, including a two-out bases-clearing double in six-run eighth inning. The Bend leadoff hitter raised his batting average to .408.

Raptors bats: Taylor Takata (Hawai’i) went 2 for 4, raising his average to a team-best .320. Luke Iverson (Utah Valley) and Patrick Engskov (Oklahoma) also went 2 for 4.

Raptors arms: Hiroyuki Yamada (Lewis-Clark State) got the start and went five innings, allowing five hits, three runs, two earned runs while striking out two and walking one. Three Raptors relievers gave up eight runs, only three of which were earned, over the final three innings.

Up next: The Raptors (6-10) look to salvage the final game of a three-game set at Vince Genna Stadium. Starting pitchers have not been announced. Game time is 1:05 p.m.
