A 40-year-old Amboy woman died from her injuries after a single-car crash early Monday morning in Brush Prairie.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded just after 5 a.m. in the 13000 block of Northeast 144th Street. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the car had left the roadway and crashed into a pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Kristal Stromme, was ejected and located nearby, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies observed that air bags were deployed.

When medics arrived, Stromme was having difficulty breathing. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later died, the sheriff’s office said. Stromme’s family has been notified.

The sheriff’s office’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating.
