Letter: Rein in city’s spending

By Larry Jacobson, VANCOUVER
Published: June 5, 2024, 6:00am

The city of Vancouver’s spend, spend, spend folks are at it again. Let’s build a $16 million housing facility that will cost $6 million to $7 million annually to operate to provide housing for 150 individuals. And let’s not let the public know what the details are.

Assuming a $6.5 million annual operating expense, by my calculation each housing unit will cost $43,333 per year.

That’s $3,600 and change per month. Must be some nice digs for that cost.

Where is all of this money actually going?

Thank heavens the Clark County Council is trying to rein in and make accountable the city of Vancouver. Although it appears they have caved to the city’s frenzy to spend again.
