PUYALLUP — Mountain bikers have a new place to hang out in Pierce County.
The Trek at Tehaleh is a 204-acre mountain bike park at 14998 170th Ave. E. It has over 6 miles of trails, ranging in elevation and difficulty. There is also a restroom and parking lot onsite.
The trail has a 2½-mile cross-country loop for beginners, 1½ miles of intermediate trails and 2 miles of expert trails. Hiking or walking the trails is prohibited, according to Pierce County’s website.
The park is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 1 to Sept. 30, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 to March 31.
The park has been in the making for six years, according to a news release from Pierce County. About $1.2 million in park impact fees and a $309,000 state grant funded the park.
The park’s grand opening will happen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22. Representatives from Pierce County, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Brookfield Properties will be present.
Pierce County Public Information Specialist Andriana Fletcher said the park is currently open to the public and is actively being used.

Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance designed and built the park. The nonprofit is known for developing world-class trails and advocating for trail and public land protection, according to the news release.
Brookfield Properties develops office, retail, multifamily, hospitality and logistic spaces.
