Fire damaged a house Saturday afternoon at 5700 N.E. 45th St. in Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

Vancouver and Clark County Fire District 6 firefighters were sent to the blaze at approximately 5:30 p.m. As crews were on the way, dispatchers received calls reporting the fire was possibly spreading to a neighboring house.

On arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from the garage. Firefighters unrolled hoses to fight the blaze from the outside. The second crew entered through the front door.

Firefighters searched the home and ensured the fire did not spread. Firefighters cut holes in the roof to reach the attic. The fire was under control in approximately 20 minutes.

There were no injuries. The Red Cross came to help the displaced homeowners.

Vancouver and Fire District 6 sent four engines, two ladder truckers, two squads and a battalion chief. In all, 22 firefighters responded.
