Raptors clinch West Coast League postseason berth with victory

Tuesday’s Game: Ridgefield Raptors 19, Yakima Valley Pippins 3 (click here for boxscore)

Recap: The Raptors (26-20) clinched their fourth consecutive West Coast League playoff berth with the victory at Yakima (17-29). … A seven-run second inning started the rout, and an eight-run ninth finished it for Ridgefield, winners of three games in a row.

Raptors bats: Hunter Katschke (Utah Tech) had a huge game, going 4 for 5 with two doubles, seven RBI and two runs scored. He upped his batting average to .368 in 32 games played. … Leadoff hitter Taylor Takata (Hawai’i) was 2 for 4 with two RBI and three runs scored. … Dasan Harris (Oklahoma) was 2 for 6 with a double, RBI and scored four times.

Raptors arms: Logan Anderson (Univ.of Portland) earned the victory in relief. He pitched three shut-out innings with three strikeouts, one walk and four hits.

Up next: Game 2 of the three-game series at Yakima continues Wednesday with a 6:35 p.m. game at Yakima County Stadium.
