The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory that goes into effect Thursday for the Vancouver area.
The heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.
Meteorologists say temperatures could reach 95 to 99 degrees in the Clark County lowlands, along with the Portland-metro area and the greater Willamette Valley in Oregon.
The weather service reminds people to drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of direct sun and check on neighbors and loved ones. Anyone who suspects someone might be suffering from heat stroke should call 911, the agency said.
The city of Vancouver has a page on its website dedicated to hot weather resources at www.cityofvancouver.us/hot-weather-resources, along with links to Clark County resources.
