Letter: Is housing accessible?

By Patti Reynolds, Vancouver
Published: July 27, 2024, 6:00am

Ms. Middleton is quoted as saying that the anticipated new community of affordable two-story cottages will serve any Clark County resident in need of affordable housing (“32 cottage-style homes planned,” The Columbian, July 23).

How might these homes be affordable for residents who have disabilities, making stairs to their bedroom a nonstarter? Is there a plan for affordable housing for the wheelchair bound, or those for whom a single story is mandatory?
