Two big innings send Ridgefield Raptors to their 13th consecutive win

Raptors rally from 3-0 deficit to beat Victoria HarbourCats 9-4

Two big innings rallied the Ridgefield Raptors to a 9-4 win over the Victoria HarbourCats on Sunday in Ridgefield, running the Raptors’ franchise-best winning streak to 13 games.

After Victoria jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, the Raptors took the lead for good with a four-run third inning.

Skyview graduate Kyle Memarian got the rally started with a one-out single. He would later score on an RBI single by Julian Nunez.

Hunter Katschke later added a two-run double, and Colby Wallace drove in Katschke with a single to make it 4-3.

Ridgefield added a five-run fifth to go up 9-3. Dasan Harris’ three-run home run was the big blow in the inning.

Hiroyuki Yamada threw three scoreless innings of relief of starting pitcher Jake Swenson, and Joseph Jasso closed out the win with 1.2 scoreless innings pitched.

Harris finished 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBI. Katschke also went 2 for with with a run, walk and RBI.

The Raptors will put their 13-game win streak to the test in a three-game series against the Corvallis Knights, starting Tuesday in Ridgefield.

The Knights have the best overall record in the West Coast League at 29-9. The Raptors lead the WCL South Division in the second-half season with a 13-0 mark.

The Raptors and Knights will play Tuesday in Ridgefield, Wednesday in Corvallis before returning to Ridgefield on Thursday.
