BRUSH PRAIRIE – Gavin Cook of Troop 475 began scouting as a Bear Cub in 2016 and recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at age 16. His favorite scouting activities include being outdoors and attending Scout Camp, where he created many fond memories.

For his Eagle Scout project, he oversaw the construction of a bench along the lower trail at Battle Ground Lake State Park, working closely with the park rangers to develop the project. He led a team of seven volunteers and spent more than 40 hours from start to finish.

After high school, Gavin plans to pursue a degree in linguistics and hopes to attend the University of Washington. He is thankful for all of the skills and sense of community that scouting provides, which will help him achieve his future goals.
