Letter: Park provides memorable outing

Upon entry to Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park this past July 4, my family of three was fortunate to find a large shade tree under which to place our chairs, grill and other paraphernalia. We eventually shared that tree with another family of five.

My thoughts here are accolades for this marvelous public space that can accommodate such large crowds. The amenities and facilities are superior, were clean and well-maintained. My only adverse observation involves the parking area; the huge grass overflow lot that has no space markings and was completely overwhelmed.

Upon departure, late afternoon, we proceeded down what appeared to be an exit drive, discovered it was not and had to back out and proceed a different way. All of the drive lanes were barely one vehicle wide with various vehicle protrusions causing an obstacle course of sorts.

Despite this inconvenience, our July 4 memories will be pleasant. It would be interesting to know just how many persons/vehicles entered the park that day.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
