Letter: Criticism of Trump is false

The founders valued free speech highly. It is the First Amendment of our Constitution. The focus of journalism is truth in reporting current events in local, government, international venues.

In America are we getting truth from media? Aren’t media obligated to truth, not partisan bias, bigotry, hatred? In a June 28 letter (“Trump is failed leader”), Linda Wallers avers falsehoods of COVID and Trump; Wallers elides facts. Trump set in motion development of vaccine(s) and treatment of COVID. Under Biden’s term, more died of COVID than under Trump’s.

Trump did not praise Kim Jong-Un and Putin, he recognized they led their nations. How many North Korean missile threats or invasions of nations by Russia happened in Trump’s term? Trump did not slur the list Wallers presented. The ire of NATO nations resulted of Trump demanding they pay their obligated share for NATO’s defense. Trump withdrew from Paris accords as U.S. would pay while India and China were free to pollute.

Finally, Biden alone was responsible for the Afghanistan debacle. As flag-draped coffins of dead Americans passed, Biden had to check his wristwatch.

How did Wallers become so ill-informed? Asking for myself.
