All lanes of the northbound span of the Interstate 5 Bridge will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Monday for repairs to drawbridge signal lights, signs, bearings and the bridge deck.
The repairs will also see closures to the bridge’s northbound sidewalk and the northbound Interstate 5 onramp from Hayden Island in Portland.
All lanes and the sidewalk on the southbound side of the bridge will remain open.
Overnight Saturday is not a typically busy time for northbound traffic on the bridge, according to Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Don Hamilton.
In the meantime, ODOT encourages drivers traveling north to redirect to the Interstate 205 Bridge via Interstate 84 east during the closure.
