Longtime Columbia River basketball coaches David Long, Jim Sevall entering WIBCA Hall of Fame

Long retired in 2022 with 484 wins, while Sevall continues as an assistant coach

Retirement has taken David Long out of Columbia River’s J. Hoover Gymnasium, but you can’t take Columbia River away from its former longtime boys basketball coach.

The 64-year-old has plenty of memorabilia displayed at his Goodyear, Ariz., home — photos, jerseys, banners, and yes, even a sideline chair — that remind him of his 32 years coaching basketball at River.
