Letter: A plan for traffic enforcement

By Pat Campbell, Vancouver
Published: July 12, 2024, 6:00am

Our police are more valuable for keeping us safe personally than as road code enforcement.

For vehicle pollution concerns, we employed high technology until that problem was largely resolved at the vehicle factory level. Now we are dealing with extreme speed and vehicle noise issues. Rather than high-speed chases, wouldn’t it be better to employ speed and sound detectors and issue appropriate tickets electronically?

Let’s put an end to our current lawlessness and inappropriate use of our valuable law enforcement resources.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
