The Swift Forest Camp boat ramp on the Lewis River in Cougar will be out of service from early September through Nov. 30 while PacifiCorp completes work on the Swift Dam.

Swift Reservoir will be drawn down 1 to 3 feet per day beginning Sept. 2 to allow for work on the dam including constructing a bulkhead system and retrofitting spillway gates. The boat ramp will close at 972 feet, and work will begin at about 955 feet.

The new bulkheads will allow future spillway gate maintenance to be completed without drawing down the reservoir, according to a press release from Pacific Power.
