Letter: Ferguson has proven record

Republican gubernatorial candidate Dave Reichert says he has a plan to address homelessness. It involves eliminating programs he deems unworthy and increasing arrests. But he doesn’t address the real causes of homelessness, which are the gap between rising rents and low wages and corporate greed driving rents artificially high.

Reichert says he’s talked to business leaders who are eager to help. Well then, why doesn’t he tell them to just pay their employees a livable wage?

Democratic candidate Bob Ferguson has a proven, long-term record of consumer advocacy. He’s the one I trust to address the real roots of homelessness.
