Clark County Sheriff’s Office finds missing, endangered man

Update: Thomas was safely located just after 4:00pm today near Vancouver Mall and has been returned home.


A Clark County man who has Alzheimer’s disease went missing early this morning. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find him.

Thomas Olsen, 73, was last seen near 5701 N.E. St. Johns Road in the Minnehaha area around 3:30 a.m.

Olsen has Alzheimer’s and is known to walk up to 3 miles or more from his home. His family communicates with him through his phone to pick him up but he left without it this morning. He may be in the downtown Vancouver area, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Olsen is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has salt-and-pepper colored short hair and a mustache. His current clothing is unknown.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911.
