Last weekend was a triumphant one for Centerfield Lookouts Babe Ruth baseball as two teams earned state championships.

The 18-under squad rolled to the Babe Ruth title in Kelso on Sunday. One day earlier, the 10-under team won the Cal Ripken championship in Lacey.

With the temperature near 100 degrees, Noah Salyers pitched a complete game as the Lookouts beat Kelso Premier 5-4 on Sunday at Rister Field.

The Lookouts went 4-0 in the seven-team double-elimination tournament, outscoring opponents 26-13.

The 10-under team triumphed in the 11-team tournament, going 5-1 over three days.

The Lookouts beat host Black Hills 4-3 in the championship game. After Cooper Miller pitched 5 1/3 innings, Ozzie Mahoney earned the save by getting the final two outs with the bases loaded.

In the semifinals, Dylan Christman pitched a complete game three-hitter as the Lookouts beat Kennewick.

The 10-under Lookouts next play in the Pacific Northwest Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Regionals on July 24-27 in Eugene, Ore.
