Clark College appointed William T. Brown its new vice president of instruction. Brown has worked in education for 30 years, most recently as the associate vice president for strategic operations and partnership development at Connecticut State Community College in New Britain, Conn.

Brown’s selection ends a two-year, nationwide search for the full-time vice president of instruction role — a position that has now been filled by six different people since 2018.

“I am excited to welcome Dr. Brown to Clark College. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching and leadership in higher education, in addition to demonstrated commitment to equitable student success,” Clark College President Karin Edwards said in an announcement Tuesday.

Brown’s position oversees more than 650 Clark College employees and 100 degree programs. His first day was Monday.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be at Clark College,” Brown said. “Education is still the lynchpin for personal growth and economic success for our students and communities, and Clark College is at the forefront of making sure that anyone in our community has the opportunity to transform their lives and fortunes.”
