RIDGEFIELD — The Ridgefield Lions club awarded a record $41,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. Of this amount, $28,000 came directly from club funds and $13,000 came from individual Ridgefield Lions members.
Scholarships are the largest expenditure for the Ridgefield Lions each year.
“I feel blessed to teach in a community where we have so many hardworking, high-achieving students, and I’m impressed with everything they’ve accomplished thus far,” said Angela Gardner, Ridgefield High School teacher and Lions member. “I’m glad that the Ridgefield Lions are able to help so many young adults as they venture off to college or trade schools.”
